Recently I have been researching ways to diversify my investment portfolio because as of now it stands pretty pathetic. While roaming around the internet i came across this site called cardeacommercial.com. It is all about

which stands for tenant in common. This means that you own a percentage of an institutional grade asset.  This is a real estate based investment opportunity.  I am all about investing in real estate because nobody is making any more land.  Real estate is a finite material.  My dad is a land developer and he does really well because of that principle. What you need to know about a TIC investment is that each investor owns a “fractional, undivided interest” (a portion) of a real estate asset.  This asset could be an office park, shopping center or a strip mall.  I think that these are all good investments because new stores are always opening up, businesses are always looking for new space, so why not invest in something like that?

One thing that i think is great about this website is that if you are someone who doesn’t know a lot about investments like yours truly, it breaks down the basics.  It also gives you helpful tips on TIC investment that you might now know.  I liked what i saw on this website and i think a lot of you readers will too.

Today was such a slow day at work it was retarded. I got there at 7:30 to help the graveyard guys out, which i do every week. They were pretty slow, but on day shift from 8 to 11 is where you make some big bucks. Today at 11 i prolly had 75 dollars, where on a normal day i usually have around 125. Thats how slow it was. And it really sucks because i count on Tuesday to be a big money day. We were really slow and i am not expecting much, i am actually expecting a lot below the bare minimum that we usually make. I can only hope the guys who came on shift after me made some good money.

As Delicia and I get ready to move next year and talk about where we might move for law school i have been thinking about trying the University of Chicago. They have a really good law school and i hear the area is great. So we were looking for apartments in the area and came across a website that had some really good listings. The apartments were in good areas and were ones that we could afford. The website really gave us an idea about the type of places we should be looking at and how we would fare financially therein. Check it out, i thought it was really great. The features on the website are really good too. They let you search for apartments based on your budget, giving you options for minimum and maximum payment, as well as based on how many bedrooms you want. It is really efficient.
They also have a feature that i thought was especially cool. It is a corporate careers feature that they employ. What they do is work with local management companies in the Chicago area in order to get flexible leases and terms for corporate clients. So if you need an apartment for 6 months while you are working in Chicago on a temporary basis, they can get you a good apartment with terms that could allowyou to leave early if you finish your temporary assignment. It sounds like a good deal and if we get into the University of Chicago we are definitely going to use them.

Well, the Lions did the unthinkable. They drafted an offensive lineman in the first round and drafted defensive players almost every pick after that. I can’t believe it. Of course, they did pass on the lineman that i thought was the best and went for another guy, but hey i guess beggers can’t be choosers. Now we just have to get passed the current trend of the players they draft not panning out. If they did get a good draft class, i might just cry. Otherwise i will be stuck in this same position next year on draft day. Hopefully i won’t see you next year like this.

So my wife and i got back from Reno today.  We were at the Nevada State REpublican Convention.  It was pretty sweet.  Mitt Romney was there and gave a good speech about why we should vote for John McCain.  And Ron Paul was there too.  Even though i am not a huge Ron Paul fan i thought he gave a good speech.  He makes a lot of sense if you think about it.  He is fiscally conservative and is a strict constitutionalist.  But he is always talking about how he would never have gone into Iraq.  And whether we should have gone to Iraq or not, we are there.  He doesn’t seem to understand that he isn’t running for President in the year 2000.  It is 2008 and you have to talk about strategies for the war today.

Recently i heard about this thing online called Lifesize Video Communications. They are a super high-tech company that allows the best video conferencing you’ve ever seen. Its pretty sweet.  If you use videoconferencing, or do business with people out of town or over the phone a lot, you should really think about it.

I a feeling very discouraged right now.  My wife and I are both active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  My wife was baptized 5 years ago and has been dying for other members of her family to embrace it as well.  Her mom started meeting with the missionaries about 4 months ago.  She seemed to be taking to it, but has now started to act aloof to it.  It is very frustrating to me.  My philosophy is that “if you don’t want to be baptized then don’t be, but don’t waste the missionaries’ time.”  She jerks them around alot and then acts like she hasn’t learned anything.  It is really starting to bother my wife a lot.  She is very frustrated.  I don’t like to see my wife bothered, so it, in turn, is bothering me on that level as well.

Since I live in Las Vegas I have an imtimate knowledge of the National Finals Rodeo. I work in customer service for a hotel, and so every year when the National Finals Rodeo comes to town I get to encounter the people. They usually come from far away places. They are always genuinely nice people who have excellent manners. Two years ago I got some tickets from a friend, who got them from WNFR Tickets so i got to see first hand what it was all about. To be honest i was a little skeptical. I had never been to a rodeo before and didn’t really know what it was about. But let me tell you, the atmosphere in the arena was electric. The whole place was screaming and hollering and really getting into it. When the crowd is into it is when it is the most fun, which i think is true of any sporting event. A couple guys got bucked off pretty good and got some really nasty cuts, which i thought was pretty sweet. And the steer wrestling event was awesome. A guy dives off his horse and grabs a steer by the neck in mid-air and slams it to the ground. You have got to have some major guts to pull that off.
My seats were actually pretty good. The event i went to was at the Thomas & Mack arena. Anyone who has ever been there knows that there isn’t a bad seat in that whole arena. It was an awesome experience and i would love to go again.

The NFL draft is on this saturday. I can’t wait. It is at the same time exciting and frustrating. It is exciting because It could be the day that my team finally gets its act together and drafts some players that aren’t all flash. But it is at the same time sad because i know that they won’t. I am a Detroit Lions fan. This means that my team will undoubtedly draft a wide reciever or running back. It makes me so dang mad. Everybody and their mother knows that you build a good football team with a good offensive line and a good defense. The Lions have a terrible offensive line and a terrible defense. I still have hope that they will eventually do the right thing, but for now i have no choice but to try to hold back the tears.
